First Week Complete
Posted by pwl on March 1, 2009
Hi readers and fellow humans with curious minds. It’s been one week here at the new blog site, Paths To Knowledge (dot wordpress dot com) and it’s going well. I like the word press software, not too shabby as it gets the job done so I do recommend it. It’s nice to focus on the content and not the technology for a change. Thanks for your comments, keep em coming!

Posted by pwl on March 1, 2009
(To watch this video you’ll have to click through to the youtube site… since they diabled embedding).
Should we abandon dark matter as a theory to explain the missing element in the universe? Watch this clip to hear some interesting arguments for and against in this video from BBC science show ‘Most of Our Universe in Missing’.
Yikes, most of the universe is missing? Where the heck did it get put? Where did it go? Was it even there to begin with?
Yikes!

Milton Erickson – Hypnosis session
Posted by pwl on March 1, 2009
“Milton Hyland Erickson, MD (5 December 1901 in Aurum, Nevada – 25 March 1980 in Phoenix, Arizona) was an American psychiatrist specializing in medical hypnosis and family therapy. He was founding president of the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis and a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychological Association, and the American Psychopathological Association. He is noted for his approach to the unconscious mind as creative and solution-generating. He is also noted for influencing brief therapy, strategic family therapy, family systems therapy, solution focused brief therapy, and Neuro-linguistic programming.”
Erickson believed that the unconscious mind was always listening, and that, whether or not the patient was in trance, suggestions could be made which would have a hypnotic influence, as long as those suggestions found some resonance at the unconscious level. The patient can be aware of this, or can be completely oblivious that something is happening. Erickson would see if the patient would respond to one or another kind of indirect suggestion, and allow the unconscious mind to actively participate in the therapeutic process. In this way, what seemed like a normal conversation might induce a hypnotic trance, or a therapeutic change in the subject. It should be noted that “[Erickson’s] conception of the unconscious is definitely not the one held by Freud.”
Erickson was an irrepressible practical joker, and it was not uncommon for him to slip indirect suggestions into all kinds of situations, including in his own books, papers, lectures and seminars.
You will send me lots of money. 😉

Quantum Biofeeback: We have an immense capicity to heal ourselves?
Posted by pwl on March 1, 2009
A series of videos in a play list marketing the “EFIX Quantum Biofeedback” device. It does a “virus scan of the body”. Ok, yeah right.
Exercise for the Reader (that means you): Identify the assertions, facts, beliefs, proofs or lack there of – then report on them in the comments. How can you prove or falsify any of the statements? If you see a crucial flaw in the arguments do you also see how it flows throughout the conversation? If you see a crucial fact presented in the arguments do you also see how it flows throughout the conversation? Be detailed, cite references, no personal attacks, opinions must be substantiated. Please use time indexes (starting at, ending at, duration) when quoting or referring to material in the video so that others can see that clip.
